Rescue. Transform. Share.

La Soupe bridges the gap between food waste and hunger using a chef-based model and by rescuing perishable food, transforming it into delicious and nutritious meals, and sharing with the food insecure and supporters.  Quite simply, perishables are rescued from grocers, distributors, farmers and restaurants.  Most of the food is brought to La Soupe where chefs transform it into healthy soupes and casseroles.  These items are enjoyed by both the food insecure and the organization's supporters.  Volunteer food runners make this happen by rescuing the perishables, bringing the items to La Soupe, and then delivering to Share Partners.  La Soupe also rescues prepared food from restaurants and delivers directly to agencies that feed the hungry.  2018 was an incredible year for La Soupe.  The organization recued 323,108 lbs. of produce, transformed it into 207,129 servings of delicious, nutritious food, and shared it with 52 share partners and supporters around the city.  This was do in large part to the financial support of grantmakers, including the Dater Foundation.
