Power Pack Program
Freestore Foodbank provides food and services that create stability and further self-reliance for people in crisis in Greater Cincinnati. Its largest childhood anti-hunger program, Power Pack, offers healthy weekend food assistance to children in need. Through the support of a Dater grant and others in the local community, this program has continued to help meet the needs of the 82,000 food insecure children in the tristate region. One student said: “On weekends I have lots of good food to eat because of the Power Pack.” During the 2017-18 school year the Freestore able to end its student waitlist, providing over 5,400 children with essential nutritional assistance each weekend at 110 school sites where a total of 207,265 Power Packs were delivered.
