Coalition Strategies

This grant supports Prevention First's  core strategy and the three centers that are designed to achieve the overall goal of deterring youth from experimenting with drugs.  The work of staff and community coalitions in Greater Cincinnati is data-driven, designed to strengthen and support community level prevention efforts, and promote collaboration across community sectors to implement evidence-based prevention. The three centers are:

 1. Center for Prevention Science focuses on assessment, survey analysis, evaluation, and research.

 2. Center for Community Engagement supports local, grassroots community substance use/misuse prevention coalitions in neighborhoods across the Greater Cincinnati area.

 3. Center for Prevention Action strives to influence community conditions and circumstances to reduce community level alcohol, tobacco, and other substance use/misuse.
