New Math Curriculum, Grades K-6

The Diocese of Covington is committed to serve the urban neighborhoods in Northern Kentucky where its urban parishes, schools and ministries offer a stabilizing presence. ACUE is the ministry of the Dept. of Catholic Schools that provides financial oversight and support for a consortium of six Catholic urban elementary schools. The schools serve a largely impoverished population of students.  A Dater Foundation grant helped ACUE purchase the 2019 Sadlier Math program for grades K-6 at five of its six schools, impacting approximately 400 students in this first year alone. Teachers are excited to have a complete and up-to-date Mathematics program and especially appreciate the digital components. There are online and electronic resources to assist with teaching the lessons, professional development, games, and enrichment and extra instruction activities. The program is both rigorous and comprehensive, and students are pushed to greater levels of achievement.  Once a full year of testing and assessment data is available, ACUE will be in a better position to determine the impact of the new program, but initial test scores are promising.
