NEXT 2021 Goes Virtual
The NEXT Program helps Greater Cincinnati high school students overcome educational and career planning obstacles by providing transferable career and academic skills, career exploration, entrepreneurship education, and hands-on workforce experience. For the 2020-2021 school year, Square1’s main goal was to revamp its delivery and expand reach to NEXT students. Funds were used to develop online content and supporting materials. As program-standard curriculum was built out to be virtual, teaching on social issues such as racial equity and awareness was included. The formal integration of such social issues into our curriculum required training for staff and schools' staff supporting the program.
