20/21 Family Learning Programs at the Cincinnati Art Museum

The REC (Rosenthal Education Center) and Family Learning programs at the Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) provide arts education and engagement opportunities for Cincinnati children of all ages and their families. Individual programs include Baby Tours (infants 0-2), REC Reads (ages 2-5), CAM Kids Day (ages 2+), Summer Camp (ages 6-12), and the 10x10: Teen Art Expo (ages 13-19), as well as Family ARTventures, Artist Workshops, Studio Classes, Sketching Tours, Creative Reuse, and Family First Saturday (for all ages). Goals and objectives of Family Learning programs are: to teach children by making, looking at, and talking about art; to make exhibitions and the permanent collection more accessible for families; and to introduce children to talented local artists and performers. Programs take place throughout the museum, with the REC serving as a central “hub.” Through these programs, CAM is able to offer Cincinnati's children the powerful benefits of arts education and engagement.
