Renovation of the Archbishop House

Our Lady of Light Ministries (OLL) is a small non-profit organization in located on the property of the former Mt. St. Mary's Seminary West, now called Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center. The current project is to renovate the former Archbishop's House, designed by Samuel Hannaford, a well-known architect who also designed Music Hall, City Hall and other historic buildings in Cincinnati. When the building renovation is completed, the 2nd and 3rd floors will provide 8 residences for retired priests. The first floor of the Archbishop House was already restored to its Italian Renaissance style, however, it did not have the handicap accessibility needed for occupancy. The Dater Foundation provided $10,000 in capital funding for the project that addressed this issue. The impact of this funding will be two-fold. First, this grand building will be available for use by the public as a site for rehearsal dinners, conferences, and meetings. This rental revenue will be the basis for future financial sustainability of OLL. Secondly, this investment by the Dater Foundation will also give OLL the opportunity to provide programming for children, families and parishes in the community.
