Student Philanthropy Education Program

Magnified Giving is a 501(c)3 educational organization founded in 2008 by Roger Grein, a recognized leader in the philanthropic community. Its mission is to educate, inspire and engage students in philanthropy, touch the hearts and minds of teens, lighten the concerns of others, and magnify the impact of philanthropy. Magnified Giving seeks to “develop the next generation of philanthropists”. Currently, Magnified Giving operates primarily in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Magnified Giving operates through three program mechanisms: the school-based program, which provides philanthropy curriculum and teacher training to over 115 local schools; the summer camp program, Camp Give; and through family and community and family Giving Circles. Through service learning and collaborative conversation, groups advocate for a nonprofit to be awarded a grant. The programs provide a philanthropy training curriculum that engages children, students and adults in the process of identifying and assessing a broad range of charitable organizations and engaging with local nonprofit organizations. Grants are awarded by students at public giving ceremonies, at Camp Give graduation, and at the culmination of the Giving Circle. Results are magnified through youth engagement, and opening pathways to serve their community. By 2020 Magnified Giving will have granted one million dollars to the local community through the hands of over 30,000 local students who have experienced a training ground for their lifelong journey of philanthropy and service.
