Academic Intervention Program Inner City Youth Opportunities is a local Cincinnati nonprofit 501 (C) 3 founded in 1993 to serve low-income inner-city youth in grades K – 12 year-round. With a focus on Homework Assistance, Academic Tutoring, Early Childhood Literacy, and Mentoring, ICYO works to identify children ln low-income families who need more support than what the schools can provide in a school day.  ICYO is unique in that it provides free transportation, education enrichment and tutoring, and youth development activities year-round to children in need. These programs provide life skills through education, mentoring, tennis and relationship developmental for youth who are struggling with poverty, behavioral, emotional and social challenges. ICYO helps to dissolve barriers and raise vital funds needed to provide low-income inner-city youth and families with hope.  In the 27 years that ICYO has been fulfilling this mission, thousands of children participated in its many programs, improved grades and behavior, learned new skills, made new friends, and passed to their next grade level.  Most of the  ICYO participants have graduated high school, college, entered the military or joined the work force and  have stayed in touch and continue to share the impact that the organization has had in their lives to help funders see how important this program is.
